New Horizon Media is a Chennai-based publishing house set up in 2004. We are a multi-language and multi-format publisher, providing compelling experiences to our customers through print, audio books, DVDs and other appropriate media, in English and various Indian languages.

In a short period of just four years, we have published over 1100 titles across three languages and are currently putting out 30 new titles every month. We publish both non-fiction and fiction with over 80% of our titles being non-fiction. We currently publish printed books and audio books in Tamil, English and Malayalam. We are now the largest Tamil publisher in terms of the number of new titles published and also sales, both by volume and value.

About the Promoters

New Horizon Media (NHM) was promoted in 2004 by Badri Seshadri, K. Satyanarayan and R. Ananthkumar. Badri Seshadri and K. Satyanarayan were both educated at IIT Madras and Cornell University, USA. Both of them were earlier part of the team of co-founders of Cricinfo.com, the world’s leading cricket website, which was sold to the UK-based Wisden Group in 2003. R. Ananthkumar is a software engineer based in Texas, USA.

Investors

Emergic Venture Capital invested in New Horizon Media (NHM) in April 2006 in the first round. NHM received an investment from Beacon India Private Equity Fund in April 2008.
